Microsoft Encarta is known as digital multimedia published from 1993 to 2009 which is consist of more than 62,000 articles including premium editions, multimedia content and collection of discovery channel videos. Encarta articles provide general idea instead of more detail that can only be seen once at a time. In the primary software edition, Encarta came with Standard, premium and reference library. Most of the articles were translated into different language and was available in CDs and via Online subscription.

In addition, the Microsoft Map point invented the world Atlas in which the Dynamic Sensor shows the latitude, place, name, population and local time. Another feature was released in 1998 called "Reference Suite", and then Microsoft bundled with the "MicrosoftBookshelf" later they replaced the name with the Encarta Dictionary.

Further, Microsoft recognized the importance of technology and introduced the hypertext display and hyperlinking software because Encarta was able to use various technologies because it was vast with software components for displaying unique types of a multimedia encyclopedia. 

Finally, Each year Microsoft published a new version of Encarta. However, Encarta content has not been changed over the last few years. some of the articles required updates and changes.
